Age 14

Sex Mare

Color Liver Chestnut

Height 15hh

I’ve ridden since I was two and I am now turning 50. I had to take a break from horses for 25 years. As I approached 50 I knew I wanted to bring all the things back into my life that filled my soul and horses were a big part of that.

I began getting involved with a rescue called Love this Horse. I adopted a senior horse from Love This Horse for my five year old daughter. We would spend time with the horses at the rescue and one day there was this beautiful full bodied 1/2 Arab who caught my eye. The feeling was mutual because she apparently wasn’t very friendly with anyone else at the rescue.

I started interacting with her and had an overwhelming feeling she had picked me and was my heart horse. I spent sleepless nights thinking about her and what I should do. I came to the conclusion if I didn’t adopt her I would always regret it.

She hadn’t even been ridden yet but ultimately it became apparent Daisy Duke and I had a very special connection and bond. She smiles when she sees me and my heart explodes just a little. I feel complete having her. I’m so grateful she and I crossed paths. She takes great care of me and vise versa.

What #RightHorse means to me

It means knowing your dream has come true, not to mention a human and the right horse getting a “do over”…. together.
