Foster and adoptive homes for horses are needed now more than ever. Fostering means that you are opening your home and heart to an at-risk horse by becoming the primary caregiver until they are adopted, or until the shelter the horse came from is able to take them back into their facility.
The COVID-19 pandemic has already led to a rise in the number of horses in need of rehoming. As boarding barns are closing to follow quarantine protocols, and owners experience sudden unemployment and related challenges, some horse owners are being forced to make difficult decisions and are looking to their local horse rescues for help. Equine adoption organizations across the country are putting out a call for foster homes to help bridge the gap in their communities.
We need your help. Help us spread the word, increase awareness and build a community of foster and adoptive homes.
