Don’t Fear the Returned Horse

Now, I still really want every adopted horse to have his “happily ever after” story. I want them and their adopters to have many adventures together, and I want them to grow old on their adopters’ farms. But I’ve stopped fearing the adoption return.

Kendra + Cinnabar + Misty

Her name was Cinnabar and I like to think that she adopted me. She told me in no uncertain terms that she was meant to come home with me. I rode her and took her for a trail ride with some of the ranch staff.

Tara + Vera

I didn’t just pick her, she picked me. Here was this horse that no one could touch, and she chooses to love me. I know that she’s my “right horse”, because she has shown me time and time again that she sees me as her right person.
